Little Buddy's First Tennis Lesson | Norman, OK Documentary Child Photographer
I've been feeling a little mommy guilt lately for not photographing my oldest child as much as the younger one. It's not that I don't love documenting his stories, he just has a horrible habit of making cheesy faces anytime I pull out the camera. I definitely don't want to hear years from know that he doesn't like flipping through family pictures because they are all of his sister, so I'm making more of an effort to photograph him while he is too involved with other activities to pay me any mind.
For months he has been talking about how he wanted to attend summer tennis camp. The day we signed up we immediately had to go shopping so he could get a new racket and matching shoes, because he just could not wait any longer. He was sooooooo ready. When the day came for his first lesson he woke me up an hour before the alarm was set to go off to ask where his new shorts were. He neeeded to get dressed right then because he couldn't be late for his first day. I bounced out of bed to help out. His excitement was contagious and I was eager to see him participate in something he had been looking forward to for so long. Well, Westwood Tennis Center did not disappoint. The instructors are fantastic, the facilities are beautiful, and classes are really very affordable. I only regret not starting him there sooner. He had such a wonderful time that the first thing out of his mouth as we walked into the parking lot to head home was "So when do we get to come back, Mom?" Yup, I think we found a winner and will keep tennis for good.
