Huxley's Adoption Story
Since we lost our Bunny to cancer last year, there has been quite a bit of talk about adding a kitty to our household. I always had cats growing up, and could not wait to give my kids the chance to have their own feline companion. On a Wednesday afternoon we headed up to the Central Oklahoma Humane Society to find a new furry family member. Travis left work in the middle of the day to meet us at the shelter and take part in selecting a good match for us. The kids had a wonderful time hanging out in both the kitten rooms. They played and snuggled with just about every kitty waiting to be adopted. A kitten that the shelter had named Finn Collins stood out to us. His coloring was so pretty, he was affectionate, and playful without being wild. He was perfect for us! Understandably the move from kitten room to our house was a stressful one for him, but by the end of the week we had renamed him Huxley and he had adjusted very well to his new home and family. We are looking forward to many years of fun and snuggles with our newest family member.
